Trust me I know what you are thinking. You thinking that a patterned floor might be a little too busy for you and I am telling you that it might be right but hang on my friends let me tell you about a fantastic feature this bathroom tile has.

That feature is… You guessed most likely from the title but that feature is it hides mess and dirt in wonderful ways.

Below I will cover the pros and cons of the pattern tile and why you should be using it for your next bathroom.

Why you shouldn’t have pattern floor tiles in your bathroom.

Firstly I always like to start on a negative and that negative is encaustic or pattern floor tiles as they are more easily know are not for everyone.

Without a doubt that can be polarising as often when I upload pictures of a bathroom, we have just finished with them you get pretty wild feedback.

Either random people love them or hate them and that is the type of reaction not great for resale.

Lastly cost can be the negative of encaustic floor tiles.

Especially real pattern hand made tiles which can cost anywhere from $100 a metre to $1000 due to the complex nature of making them.

So two things to consider COST and RESALE with pattern floor tiles as negatives.

Why you should most defitinely be using pattern tiles for your bathroom

Finally you have come to where I make my big statement.

Pattern floor tiles are amazing for anyone who hates cleaning.

The heavy pattern on the tiles hides marks and dirt the way flat finished bathroom tiles do not.

Below are my feet (which you didnt need to know) and a stunning example of running it up a feature wall.

Due to the tile’s decorative nature, any grime also gets hidden in the pattern.

Flat finish tiles where you have one tone often are waiting for you to touch them to show the dirt.

LISTEN my big advice is when selecting tiles for your bathroom is get those bad boys dirty and see how they mark TRUST ME.

Lastly the original idea of pattern floor tiles and why they have been around for centuries is they actually have a style they go with.

Federation or more classic tones or styles pair well with encaustic bathroom floors so if you are looking for something more timeless head down in this direction.

When you see it like the bathroom we completed in Shelley, Western Australia below it adds something really special to an otherwise forgotten section of the bathroom renovation. Floors can be amazingly done right.

Lastly I personally love the black and white classic like the images below (and again with my feet only with shoes on)

Above all things I hate in like I hate cleaning. If you are like me planning your bathroom around this is crucial.

Pattern Tiles or Encaustic Hand Made Tiles are a perfect helper for anyone looking for this.

Caution must be taken though as this style is not only hard to pick they can not always be great for resale but I am not a big one for renovating for others so take that on board.
