Bathroom T Wall

One of our latest creations in the bathroom renovation space is the T Wall. Coined the T Wall due to its shape the T Wall creates the most shelf space possible in a bathroom.

Why this is the most popular bathroom shelving trends has many reasons and few downsides.

Below we will cover the pro’s and con’s of installing a T Wall bathroom shelf in your next renovation.

What Is A Bathroom T Wall

For those wondering a T Wall in a bathroom is a bricked wall that sits around 1200mm high and runs the length of the room.

The T Wall is slightly different as it has a Nib Wall added a certain distance along the wall to sit at the start of the shower.

All the reasons it is designed that way are covered as we go along in the article but the main point is the convenience it creates.

Downsides of the T Wall Bathroom Shelf

Below are the cons of using the T wall in a modern bathroom

  • Size: Due to the 100mm each way the shelf requires it can narrow your shower space
  • Plumbing Impact: The height of the wall causes issues with shower heads and vanity plumbing
  • Mirror: Mirror heights will sit higher than usual due to its height
  • Cost: T Walls can impact the cost of the shower screen and the labour cost

Final Thoughts

The T Wall is an amazing modern bathroom invention that gets the most out of most bathroom renovation spaces. What I personally love about them is how much storage you get.

Due to the organic nature of modern bathroom designs the T Wall allows for you to flow that design throughout.

The only real issues to consider are the cost and the impact it can have on smaller bathroom designs.

The T Wall should never really be installed in a bathroom under 750mm deep.
